Britain’s Sunday Times paper called on its readers to vote to leave the European Union in Thursday’s mandate as a way to press for much deeper reform of the bloc, which might make it more acceptable for Britain to really stay in. “Yes, we need to be gotten ready for a rough trip, but we ought to hold our nerve. This vote may be the only opportunity we will ever need to call a stop to the onward march of the centralizing European task,” the newspaper stated in an editorial.
The newspaper said it supported the concept drifted by leading “Out” campaigner Boris Johnson of Britain holding a 2nd referendum after settlements on more reform with Brussels.
