Ride-hailing service Uber [UBER.UL] has actually chosen to invest $500 million into an enthusiastic international mapping job to wean itself off dependence on Google Maps and lead the way for driverless vehicles, the Financial Times reported on Sunday. The San Francisco-based business is increase spending in new innovations such as mapping and driverless cars following brand-new financial investments into the company earlier this year.
