MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Pure Storage (NYSE: PSTG), the market’s leading independent solid-state array vendor, announced that Vik Nagjee has joined the company as VP and CTO of Global Healthcare Solutions. Nagjee’s appointment reaffirms Pure’s commitment to the continued development of products, solutions and business models, which enable healthcare organizations to propel business and clinical innovation across their IT infrastructure.
Nagjee will leverage extensive experience from Epic, the leading Electronic Medical Records provider, and InterSystems to lead Pure’s healthcare strategy, further advancing Pure’s focus on the healthcare industry, which has been central to the growth of the company. Prior to joining Pure, Nagjee was the CTO of Epic, where he directed the architecture, implementation and business development of Epic’s service provider business, Epic Hosting.
“Pure Storage is a high performing company and their products, service and support continue to impress,” said David Rapperport, Executive Director of Software Engineering and Design, Quest Diagnostics, a Pure Storage customer. “Vik has a wealth of healthcare IT knowledge and is sure to make an immediate impact with current and future customers. The healthcare space is relying on innovation and technology to improve the patient experience and outcome.”
Pure Storage All-flash Arrays provide the performance and data reduction needed for healthcare organizations deploying virtual desktop infrastructures (VDI) into their environment. VDI gives healthcare providers mobility, by allowing them to have access to data in a matter of seconds, while protecting the data in a centrally located secure environment. All-flash is also a game-changer for Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems by delivering the performance and capacity needed to meet the demands of the data growth and evolving EHR requirements. Additionally, Pure’s newly expanded Evergreen Storage means healthcare organizations can upgrade capacity, density, performance and features without disruption and no longer have to worry about downtime or migrating their sensitive patient data.
“Pure remains focused on our mission to become the worlds #1 storage company and adding Vik’s experience to our leadership team contributes to this mission,” said David Hatfield, President, Pure Storage. “Healthcare is a thriving market for us and Vik’s expertise in this area will help us continue to deliver superior products and solutions to our healthcare customers, so they can accelerate their businesses and focus on patient outcomes instead of worrying about storage.”
Nagjee holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science and Accounting from Purdue University.
