Malawi'' s central bank leaves benchmark lending rate the same at 27 pct

Malawi’s reserve bank has actually left
the benchmark lending rate unchanged at 27 percent, the bank
said on Friday, citing weak development and lower agricultural
production due to a severe drought. “The MPC (Monetary Policy Committee) observed that global
recovery was delicate and the outlook remained weak,” the central
bank stated in a statement after a 2 day meeting.
