Leading officials from the
Group of Seven rich economies wish to see negotiations over
Britain’s exit from the European Union start as quickly as
possible, French financing minister Michel Sapin stated. “That the markets reacted well, that things stayed under
control, that there was a have to open the settlements as soon
as possible,” Sapin told Reuters when asked them about Brexit-related
discussions throughout a meeting of G7 authorities on Saturday.
” We need to have certainty now around the timetable. We say
that not to put unneeded pressure on the British authorities
but due to the fact that I believe that is exactly what everybody, all observers and
the markets require,” Sapin stated as he left the meeting of G7
finance ministers and central lenders.
The G7 discussion happened on the sidelines of a conference
in China of officials from the broader G20 group which brings
together a lot of the world’s leading economies.
